Lethal Weapon Premiere and Sneak Peek Party

Disclosure: I attended the Lethal Weapon preview party as a sponsored VIP of Digital Media Management. I received no compensation for this review, and all opinions are 100% my own.

A couple weeks ago, I had the chance to preview the new Fox TV series Lethal Weapon. I also was treated to a sneak peek at the new show Pitch, as well as an exclusive new sneak of Empire season three.

I got to bring along my lovely sis, Angie, and enjoy the scene at the very exclusive Soho House in West Hollywood. The night was full of treats, wine, and great television!

Lethal Weapon starts Damon Wayans and Clayne Crawford in a new, modern update of the famed film series, made popular by Danny Glover and Mel Gibson. Damon Wayans stars as the experienced, by-the-book Roger Murtaugh, while Clayne Crawford is the give-you-a-heart-attack-every-five-minutes, not-afraid-to-take-risks Martin Riggs.

While I was still a little too young to enjoy the Lethal Weapon movies in their prime, I remember how much they were loved by audiences everywhere.

When I was younger, they even filmed part of the third installment close to our house.  My mom was so excited to get a peek at Mel Gibson, that she packed my sister and I up in the car, and took us down to the set.  That was one of the most exciting things that ever happened in our little corner of the world.

In any case, the new Lethal Weapon is a really fun, funny, as well as touching series. I laughed, got teary-eyed, and swooned over my newfound heartthrob, Clayne Crawford.

As for Pitch, it is definitely on my fall TV to-do list! Pitch centers on the story of Ginny Baker, the first female to play in major league baseball.

I had no idea what to expect from Pitch–I hadn’t heard anything about it before our screening–and I’m really NOT a baseball fan… but Pitch caught me in the first ten minutes. There are twists and turns, and as a woman, it’s easy to root for Ginny and be caught on the edge of your seat waiting for her to triumph.

It also doesn’t hurt that Mark Paul Gosselar co-stars as sexy (but cranky) star catcher Mike Lawson.  As someone who has had a HUGE crush on him since his Saved By the Bell days, I love his addition to this cast.

I definitely loved both shows (and I don’t say that lightly!), and think you should check them out this fall TV premiere season.

Lethal Weapon airs on Wednesdays at 8pm on Fox. You can follow them on Twitter and Instagram for more news.

Pitch airs on Fox TV on Thursdays at 8pm. You can find them on Instagram here, as well as Twitter here.
